Experience: Dr. Khaliq Ahmad
is currently a Director of the Management
Centre, IIUM. Prior to joining IIUM, he
worked in private sector from 1989 to
1993. His administrative career expands
over 5 years working experience in private
sector before joining IIUM in 1993. And
he held a position as a Deputy Dean (Research
& Academic training) since 1999 till
2004. Currently Dr. Ahmad is vice chairman
after working as Hon. Secretary of the
Malaysian Association of the Chartered
Institute of Marketing (MACIM) for 5 years.
The course taught by him for the Master’s
level program is Marketing Policies Managing
Corporate Resources. At undergraduate
level he taught Management, Marketing,
Strategic Management, Small Business Management,
Organizational Behavior and Management
from Islamic Perspectives courses.
Research and publication: Dr.
Khaliq has published 11 books, presented
15 papers (7 in international conferences)
and 25 articles (13 in refereed national
and international journals). Dr. Khaliq
has teaching and research experience of
14 years.

Experience: Prof. Mansor’s

PROF. DATO' DR. JAMIL B. OSMAN
Education: Ph.D. in Managerial
Economics (Rensselear Polytechnic Institute,

( UK ); Diploma in Islamic Studies (UKM)
Experience: Professor in Quantitative
Methods in Financial Economics at the
Department of Economics, IIUM. He is among
the pioneer academic staff of the IIUM,
who joined the university in 1983. Currently,
Dato' Jamil is the Dean of Kulliyyah of
Economics and Management Sciences, and
he is also the Deputy President of Institute
of Statistics, Malaysia (ISM). . Previously,
he was appointed as the first Dean of
Admission and Records Division (1990-1998).
He then held the position of Deputy Rector
of Academic Affairs for four years (1998-2002).
Research and publication: His
areas of research include Islamic Financial
institutions, covering Islamic Banking,
Islamic Insurance (Takaful) and Islamic
pawnbroking (Ar-Rahnu). He applied widely
the quantitative techniques in his areas
research.

PROF. DR. MOHD AKRAM SHAIR MOHAMED

Experience: Prof. Dr. Mohd
Akram is currently the Director of Legal
Unit and Professor of Law at the Ahmad
Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, IIUM. He is
a member of I.C.R.C, Barrister-at-law,
and Advocate & Solicitor. He started
his career as a full-time lecturer and
tutor at Universiti Malaya in 1975 before
coming to IIUM in 1983. Prof. Akram was
also a visiting professor at the Police
College, Kuala Kubu Baru, Bank Negara
Training School, Institute of Public Health,
and the Military Staff College. His areas
of interest are Law of Torts, Contract
Law, Public International Law and I.HL,
International Trade & Maritime Law,
Medical Law, and Sports Law.
Research & Publications:
To date, Prof. Dr. Mohd Akram has written
about 60 articles on various aspects of
Malaysian Law in refereed journals. Among
his books published were International
Law, Jurisprudence (Malay), Introduction
to IHL, and Law of Confessions. He has
also presented papers in both local and
international seminars and conferences.

PROF (HONORARY) HJ ABDUL MANAP SAID

Experience: Prof. Hj. Abdul Manap
is currently lecturing at the Department
of Accounting, Kulliyyah of Economics
and Management Sciences, International
Islamic University Malaysia. He is also
the External Examiner for the MIM Diploma
Program and project supervisor for the
Maastricht School of Management (Netherlands)
MBA programme. Prof. Manap is the Past
President of the Malaysian Association
of The Institute of Chartered Secretaries
and Administrators (MAICSA) and serves
in various committees of the Association,
such as the Education Committee and the
Corporate Governance Committee.
He also serves on the Education and Training
Committee and the Public Sector Accounting
Committee of the Malaysian Institute of
Certified Public Accountants (MICPA).
He is on the board for a number of public
companies and Chairman of the Audit Committee.
He has represented MAICSA on the Ministry
of Finance High Level Committee on Corporate
Governance and on the Committee of Management,
the Malaysian Institute of Corporate Governance
(MICG).

Manap has written numerous books and articles
published in the journals. Among the books
were Federal Commercial Studies (Book
1-3) published by Federal Publications,
Singapore; and Guide to Accounting for
Students of Business in Institutions of
Higher Learning, UM. He has also presented

PROF. DR. MALIAH SULAIMAN
Education: Ph.D., Otago University,
New Zealand; Chartered Accountant, Malaysia;
MBA, Duquesne; FCCA, UK.
Experience: Prof. Maliah, a fellow
of the Association of Chartered Certified
Accountants (UK), was formerly the Deputy
Dean of Academic Affairs at the Kulliyyah
of Economics and Management Sciences, IIUM.
Prior to academia, she was attached to a
public accounting firm in Malaysia. She
has taught at tertiary institutions in both
Malaysia and New Zealand. She was also a
Visiting Research Fellow at Curtin University
of Technology in 1999, and an Adjunct Research
Fellow from 2000 - 2002.
Research and publication:
Prof. Maliah's research interests include
environmental accounting, management accounting,
and accounting from an Islamic perspective.
Currently, she is actively involved in research
on environmental accounting and management
accounting practices in Malaysian companies. |

PROF. DATO' DR. MOHD AZMI OMAR

Experience: He is the author
of several publications and research papers.
He has undertaken consultancy work on
Islamic Banking and Interest Free Banking
for several Malaysian commercial banks
and finance companies. He is also one
of the examiners of Islamic Accounting,
Auditing and Banking Practice (AIA Module
F) for the Association of International
Accountants (AIA), UK and a member of
Investment Committee of Bank Simpanan
Nasional Unit Trust Fund. Prior to joining
the University in 1985, Prof. Azmi was
a Bank Officer at Bank Bumiputra Berhad.
Research and publication: Dr. Azmi is presently the Deputy Rector (Academic Affairs) of IIUM. His teaching and research interest includes Financial Management, Financial Analysis and Islamic Banking and Finance.

Experience: He has over 25 years
of teaching, research and consultancy
experiences. Before joining IIUM in 1998,
he worked as Associate Professor at the
ANS Institute of Social Studies, Patna,
as Fellow at the National Institute of
Educational Planning & Administration,
New Delhi, and as Assistant Professor
at the Patna University, Patna. In addition,
he worked as Education Specialist at the
Actionaid (India), and as the Project
Officer, Bihar Education Project Council,
Patna.
He is the founding secretary
of Association of Social Engineering,
Research & Training (Assert), Patna,
is a member of the General Body of Praxis
(Institute for Participative Practices),
New Delhi, and a member of the Academy
of Human Resource Development and International
Association of Applied Psychology.
Prof. Hassan has provided
research and consultancy services to organizations
like UNESCO, UNICEF, the World Bank, Planning
Commission of India, Ministry of HRD,
Govt. Of India, National Council of Educational
Research & Training (NCERT), New Delhi,
Bihar Education Project Council etc. He
was a member of the woking committees
in the area of education constituted by
the Planning Commission, Govt. of India
for the development of national plans.
Prof. Hassan was the recipient
of gold and silver medals in inter university
debate competitions and the best student
award for obtaining the highest postion
in B.A (Hons) exam. In 1991 he received
senior fulbright fellowship and was attached
to the Department of Psychology, University
of Pennsylvania for his research work.
Research and publication:
He has publishes three books based on
his research studies in the area of
orgabizational behavior, has over 40
publications in refereed journals, and
has made numerous presentations in national
and international conferences. His research
interest includes, organizational justice,
leadership and power, decision making
in organizations, HRD, and evaluation
studies of educational programs.

he is working as an Associate Professor

of International Islamic University Malaysia
(IIUM). Prior to these assignments, he worked
as a lecturer at the Department of Computer
Science and Engineering of Birla Institute
of Technology and Science - Pilani, India.
Dr. Rafikul has taught several courses in
Business and Information Technology at both
the undergraduate and masters level. This
includes Decision Science, Quality Management,
Operations Management, Business Statistics,
Management Information System, Programming
Languages, Data Structures, Computer Based
Simulation and Modeling. He is a member
of Management Science/Operations Research
Society of Malaysia and life member of Indian
Society of Technical Education.

Rafikul has published about 20 research
papers in international journals. He is

Experience: Dr. Nik is currently
the Deputy Dean (Student Affairs) at the
Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences.
She received her PhD in Accounting from
the University of Leeds, U.K. Prior to joining
IIUM, Dr. Nik was lecturing at the Mara
Science College in Cheras. Since joining
IIUM in 1991, she has taught various subjects
in both Financial and Managerial Accounting
at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels.
Research and publication: Dr. Nik has
also presented a number of papers at both
local as well as international conferences.
These include the European Accounting Association's
25th Annual Congress in Copenhagen, Denmark,
the 7th International Conference on Global
and Economic Development in Bangkok and
the Asian Academic Accounting Association
conference in Nagoya, Japan. Externally
Dr. Nik was also involved with the Malaysian
Accounting Standards Board. She was a member
of the Working Group for the MASB standard
on joint ventures. She has also been invited
by ACCA (Malaysia) to present a talk on
Environmental Reporting for their CPE programme,
as well as the recent ACCA's Environmental
Reporting Conference, 2003. In addition
to that, she has also co-written a series
of articles in the New Straits Times (Malaysia)
for ACCA. She is currently working on several
research projects on environmental reporting

Experience: Dr. Mohiuddin is an
Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering
Department. Prior to joining IIUM, Dr. Mohiuddin
was at Dhaka University of Engineering and
Technology from January 1986. He worked
in different industries and organizations
from 1978 to 1985. He teaches engineering
and management courses at both graduate
and undergraduate level. The courses taught
by him for the M.Sc in Manufacturing Engineering
(Business specialization) are Production
Planning and Control, Operations Research,
Organizational Behavior, Strategic Management
and Engineering Project Management. He taught
Management Information Systems (MIS) at
graduate level and Decision Science in Business
Administration Department. He is teaching
Operations Management in the MBA programme
at the Management Centre. He is a member
of American Society of Mechanical Engineers

Experience: Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mohamad
Fauzan is an Assoc. Professor of Information
Systems at the Faculty of ICT, IIUM. He
was the Assoc. Professor in the same field
at University of Bahrain from 2004 until
2005. He is currently the Chairman for the
Research Group on ICT and Islam, and the
Vice-Chairman for the Society for Information
Retrieval and Knowledge Management Malaysia
(SIRKOM). Previously, he was the Director
for Information Technology Division (2001–2004),
Director for Centre for IT Advancement (2004),
and Director for C-ExCEL (1999). The courses
taught by him for the MIS/IT Program are
Management Information System (MIS), ICT
and Islam, Human Resource Management, E-Banking,
and Project Management. He is a professional
member for the Association for Computing
Machinery (ACM). Dr. Mohamad Fauzan has
also been the IT Advisor for the State of
Pahang Darul Makmur and the ICT Steering
Committee for the State of Selangor Darul
Ehsan. Currently, he is the IT Advisor for
the State of Perak Darul Ridzuan.
Research and publication: He has published
in numerous local and international journals.
His papers on the use of Cyber-cafés
and Wisdom and ICT have been cited by others.
Dr. Fauzan has presented his paper at several

Experience: Dr. Shukran Abdul
Rahman is an assistant professor at the
Department of Psychology, and Director
of the Alumni and Career Services Division,
IIUM. Specialized in occupational psychology,
he teaches Issues in Organizational and
Personnel Psychology, Organizational Behaviour
and Principles of Psychological Assessment.
He is also an associate research fellow
at the National Higher Education Research
Institute, and a consultant in the Applied
Psychology Centre.

has published in local and international

international conferences. He has been
studying employability and employment
patterns among university graduates in
Malaysia, and has authored six monographs
on career.

PROF. DR NOOR HAZILAH ABD. MANAF
Education: Ph.D., University Malaya;

Experience: Dr. Noor Hazilah is
an assistant professor at the Dept. of Business
Administration where she teaches Quality
Management and Principles and Practice of
Management at both the undergraduate and
graduate levels. Prior to joining the academia,
Dr. Hazilah served the University in an
administrative capacity. She has more than
15 years experience in the areas of human
resource, training and development, corporate
affairs and in establishing the Management
Centre as a strategic business unit within
the University. Her last position was as
Senior Manager of the Management Centre.
Research and Publication: Dr.
Hazilah’s research area is in healthcare
quality management. She has presented papers
at international and local conference on
the topic, and has also published in both
international and local journals on the
area. She has also provided consultancy
services to the Institute of Health Management
(IHM) and has done collaborative work with
both the IHM and World Health Organization
(WHO). She is currently working with the
IHM on assessing human resource needs of
the healthcare sector in the country. Dr.
Hazilah is also a member of the Malaysian

Experience: Dr Isham has been teaching at the university since 1990 and is presently teaching both Western and Islamic philosophy and ethics at the Faculty of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage. Prior to studying philosophy, he started his undergraduate work majoring in Accounting and minoring in Economics. He did his Masters and Ph.D. in Philosophy. His teaching and research interests are on problems in the theory of knowledge, belief and perception; the developments, foundations and problems of ethics in everyday life; issues and development of contemporary Islamic economics; contemporary business issues and morality.

Experience: Dr. Azura Omar is
currently an Assistant Professor at the
Department of Business Administration, Kulliyyah
of Economics and Management Sciences (KENMS),
IIUM. Previously she has worked as a Senior
Researcher at the Centre for Diversity and
Work Psychology at the Manchester Business
School of the University of Manchester,
investigating problems facing Black and
Ethnic Minority entrepreneurial women and
men in the Northwest of England. She was
also a volunteer member of the steering
group committee for the Faith and Enterprise
for Muslim Women, a project funded by SEDI
of Manchester (Social Enterprise Development
Initiative), ESF and the UK Islamic Mission.
She has acted as an academic reviewer for
two international journal publications (Women
in Management Review and Career Development
International), the British Academy of Management
Conference (Gender and Management Track)
and Sage Publication (Book Proposal Review).
Research and Publication: Her
principal research interests have been in
the area of diversity and management. She
has published an article, a book chapter
and present conference papers in this field.
At EURAM 2005 in St Andrews, her paper (co-authored
with Marilyn Davidson) entitled ‘Women
as Managers: A Comparative Study of the
Malaysian Experiences’ was awarded
Best In Track Paper for Gender and Management
and was short listed for the Best Conference

(Islamic Banking), Loughborough University.
Experience: Dr. Asyraf is a young scholar graduated from IIUM in the year 2000. Upon completing his degree in Accounting and having been awarded as the Best Accounting Graduate of IIUM, Malaysian Association of Certified Public Accountant (MACPA) and Harvard Business School Alumni Club, he joined IIUM as an Assistant Lecturer. He then pursued his Master degree in Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance at Loughborough University United Kingdom in 2001. Immediately after completing his Master with Distinction, he started his PhD in the same area. Within 3 years, he successfully obtained his PhD in Islamic Banking from Loughborough University.
Research and publication: He has presented papers at both local and several international conferences including London and Jakarta. His research areas of interest including Islamic Economics, Banking and Finance, Islamic Accounting, Islamic Worldview and Ethics, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Governance and Business Ethics. |

Prior to joining IIUM, Dr Shahul Hameed
was a senior lecturer in the Administrative
College of Papua New Guinea from 1987 to
1991, where he headed the Computer Studies
Unit.Prior to this, he has had auditing
and management accounting experience in
the profession and industry. He teaches
islamic accounting and ethics courses at
both the undergraduate and postgraduate
levels.
Research and publication: His
areas of research interest include Accounting
Information Systems, Islamic Accounting,
Business Ethics, Accounting Ethics, Enterprise
Resource Planning Systems, and Information
Systems Auditing. He is a council member
of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants
and sits on the ethics, education, examination
and investigation committees of the MIA.
He is an panel assessor of National Accreditation
Board,an External examiner of Accounting
Information Systems course for Mara Professional
College and a member of the editorial board
of the Indonesian Management Accounting
Journal. He is also advisor on Islamic accounting
to Kolej IKIP and UTM. Dr Shahul Hameed
has published in several journals and has

Experience: Dr. Kalthom joined the University as a lecturer in 1985 at the Department of Business Administration, Kuliyyah of Economics & Management Sciences. She is also the coordinator for practical training for the IIUM undergraduates for the Department of Business Administration. Currently, she teaches the IIUM courses in marketing related subjects.

Experience: >Dr Engku Rabiah
Adawiah is currently an Associate Professor
at Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International
Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM). She
teaches both Shari'ah and civil law. Her
focus is on the subjects of Islamic banking
and securities, company law and
securities regulation at both undergraduate
and postgraduate levels. She also serves
as an independent Syariah advisor for Islamic
securities, approved by the Malaysian Securities
Commission.
Research and publication: Her research
interests are in securities regulation,
company law, Islamic law of transaction,
and Islamic banking and finance. Her publications
include articles in a number of journals
and periodicals in Malaysia. She has presented
in conferences, seminars, workshops and
in-house trainings on Islamic Banking and
Finance.

Experience: Dr. Sharifah Raihan
is an Assistant Professor at the Department
of Business Administration, Kulliyyah
of Economics and Management Sciences.
Prior to joining IIUM, she was an Executive
Officer at the Corporate and Research
Division of Perwira Affin Bank in Kuala
Lumpur. She is a life member of the Malaysian
Finance Association (MFA). Her areas of
interest are Financial Management, Capital
Structure, Corporate Finance, and Company
Evaluation.
Research and publication: Dr.
Sharifah Raihan has written and presented
papers at conferences such as the Malaysian
Finance Association 7th Annual Conference
2005, and the South West Accounting Group
Annual Conference, British Accounting

Experience: Dr. Muslim is an assistant
professor at the Department of Accounting,
Kulliyyah of Economics and Management Sciences.
Prior to joining IIUM, he was at Arthur
Andersen, Public Accountants from Oct, 1994
to April, 1995. He graduated from American
University and was placed on the Kogod School
of Business’s “Graduate Scholars
List” in 1997 – top 10% of Kogod
graduate students in academic performance.
Kogod School of Business was ranked amongst
top 50 Business School in the US by the
‘Wall Street Journal Guide to the
Top Business Schools’ in 2004. He
is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in
Washington D.C. upon completing District
of Columbia’s Board of Accountancy
requirements in 1998 including successfully
passed the professional examinations conducted
by American Institute of Certified Public
Accountants (AICPA), and became a member
of the AICPA in 1998. He obtained his PhD
from Cardiff Business School in 2004 in
the area of management accounting in Public
Sector Organizations.
Research and publication: His research
interest covers areas in Management Accounting
and Control, Performance Management in Private
and Public Sector Organizations, New Public
Financial Management, and Enterprise Risk
Management. He presented papers at several
conferences. Recently, he gave a lecture
at Asian Business Forum in Singapore and
Kuala Lumpur on Performance Auditing in
Public Sector Organizations. He is also
a member of Asian Accounting, Finance and
Business Research Unit (AAFBRU), Cardiff

Experience: Dr. Ahasanul is currently
an Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah
of Economics and Management Sciences, IIUM.
His areas of interest are International
Marketing, E-commerce, Technology Marketing,
and Marketing Strategy. Previously, he was
a lecturer in marketing at the Multimedia
University, Malaysia where he received an
award from the president of the university
for outstanding teaching evaluation. Dr.
Ahasanul also possesses experience working
in the industry. He was the Marketing Manager
at Engineers Electric Company in Bangladesh.
He is a member of the American Marketing
Association (AMA).
Research and Publication: Dr.
Ahasanul has published numerous articles
in various local and international journals,
namely the Journal of Applied Business Research,
American Joural of Applied Science, International
Business and Economics Research Journal,
Asian Journal of Information Technology,
The Journal of American Academy of Business,
and many others. He has also presented paper
at both local and international conferences.

DR. NIK RAHIMAH NIK YACOB
Education: Ph.D. (Business Admin), University of Colorado , Boulder ; MBA, University of Idaho , Moscow ; B.Sc, California State University , Chico
Experience: Dr. Nik Rahimah is currently the Business and Education Consultant/Managing Director of Beaumind Soft Sdn Bhd. She was awarded the Best Marketing Ph.D Student at the University of Colorado at ‘The Twenty Third Annual AMA Doctoral Consortium'. She was also the recipient of the PSD Training Award at the Tsinghua University , in Beijing , China . Dr. Nik was also a lecturer at UKM from 1980 till 1997. She then became the Professor of Marketing at the Universiti Tun Abdul Razak from 1998-2003. Dr. Nik also held various positions in the corporate sector where she was the Group General Manager of the Corporate Marketing Division; Director of Operations & Management II; and the General Manager of the Business Development-Education & Training at the KUB Malaysia Berhad.
Research and Publication: To date, Dr. Nik has written over 30 published articles and books. Her articles are mostly published in the ‘Journal Pengurusan', ‘Malaysian Management Review', ‘Isu Pengurusan Perniagaan', ‘Marketeer', and ‘The International Journal of Accounting and Business Society'. |

Experience: Dr. Mohiuddin is currently an assistant professor at the Kulliyyah of Information and Communication Technology, IIUM. He possess vast experience in his field, where he was a programmer analyst at K&S Consulting in New York, a new associate programmer analyst at Goldman Sachs in New York, an assistant adjunct instructor at the Department of Electrical Engineering, North Carolina A&T State University in Greensboro, and also a unit engineer at the Saudi Consolidated Electrical Companies in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Research and publication: Dr. Mohiuddin’s research interest is in the area of Artificial Intelligence. He has also conducted research in Parallel and Cluster Computing. |

ASST. PROF. DR. UGI SUHARTO
Education: Ph.D. in Islamic Civilization, International Institute of Islamic Thought & Civilization (ISTAC); B.Ec & M.Ec, International Islamic University Malaysia
Experience: Dr. Ugi is currently
an Assistant Professor at the Kulliyyah
of Economics and Management Sciences in
IIUM. Previously he has taught Microeconomics
at the SAL College Kuala Lumpur , and Economics
and Mathematics at the Matriculation Centre,
IIUM. Dr. Ugi was also a Research Fellow
at the International Institute of Islamic
Thought (ISTAC) for six years, and later
became an Assistant Professor there.
Research and Publication: Dr.
Ugi has published numerous articles in newspapers
and magazines such as the Berita Harian,
Republika, and Gatra ( Indonesia ). He has
also written in academic journals on taxation
in Islam, zakat as a special institution
of public finance, and many others. He is
also the author to ‘Keuangan Publik Islam:
Reinterpretasi Zakat dan Pajak' (2004).
His latest publication is entitled "Kitab
al-Amwal: Abu' Ubayd's Concept of Public
Finance" (2005). |

DR. ZABEDA ABDUL HAMID
Education: B.H.Sc. (Honours) in Psychology, International Islamic University Malaysia; MSc. in Human Resource Management, Robert Gordon
University, Aberdeen; Ph.D. in Human Resource Management, University of Strathclyde, Glasgow.
Experience: Dr. Zabeda began teaching
at the International Islamic University
in 1998. She teaches undergraduate and postgraduate
students in the areas of Management, Organizational
Behaviour, Human Resource Management and
Compensation Management. During her PhD
studies, Dr. Zabeda was also an assistant
tutor at the Department of Human Resource
Management as well as the Graduate School
of Business, University of Strathclyde.
Her research interests include Human Resource
Management and Knowledge Management.

BR. AHMED M. ZEKI
Education: BSc (Mathematics), University of Jordan, MSc (Computer Science), National University of Malaysia / UKM. Currently he is pursuing his PhD in Computer Science at UKM.
Experience: Ahmed M. Zeki is a
lecturer at the department of Computer Science,
Kulliyyah of Information and Communication
Technology (KICT), International Islamic
University Malaysia (IIUM). He joint IIUM
in 1999. He teaches advanced computer science
courses such as Artificial Intelligence,
Data Mining, Computer Graphics, Data Structure
and Algorithms and others. He has been a
trainer for several computer workshops conducted
at IIUM. He is a member of several committees
at the Kulliyyah level as well as the university
level; among them is the University Technical
ICT Committee (UTICTEC).
Currently he is a visiting scientist at the Institute of the Advanced Technology Malaysia ITMA/UPM since 2002. He is the Chairman of the International Conference on ICT and Islam 2005. He is a member of IEEE since 2001. He is a paper reviewer in some well recognized international conferences.
Research and publication: His research is mainly focused on Character Recognition, Pattern Recognition and Image Processing. He has published a number of papers at several local and international conferences. His paper on the Malay Speech Synthesizer won the best paper award in REDECS'01. He also won the quality research award at the Kulliyyah level in 2003. |

BR. MUSTAFA OMAR MOHAMMED
Education: Sudan Certificate of
Education (Arabic & Islamic Studies),
Sudan; MECS, BECS, IIUM, Malaysia. He is
presently pursuing his PhD in Finance at
USM.
Experience: Br. Mustafa was a private
tutor as well as a freelance translator
in both Arabic and English languages. After
joining IIUM, he was appointed as an Asst.
Director of the Management Services Division,
where he held the position for five years.
Currently, he is a lecturer at the Department
of Economics, Kulliyyah of Economics and
Management Sciences, IIUM. He teaches courses
related to Islamic Economics, Islamic Banking
and Finance, and Fiqh and Usul Al-Fiqh.
Br. Mustafa was awarded the 2003 Best Teacher
at the Faculty Level, conferred on 17th
April 2003 by the International Islamic
University Malaysia.
Research and publication: Br. Mustafa is
presently working on a group research project
entitled 'Readings in Al-Fiqh Al-Iqtisadi',
and a textbook for the undergraduate course,
entitled 'Transactions in Islamic Economics. |
