Currently, four areas of specialization are being offered:
i. General Management
ii. Strategic Management
iii. Finance
iv. Islamic Banking and Finance

Students are required to take a total of 14 core courses. Upon completion of these courses, they have the option either to complete a dissertation related to their area of specialization (6 credit hours) or to take 2 elective courses in lieu of the dissertation. Ten of the fourteen courses will be common to all four specializations. Each area of specialization therefore has 4 specialization courses. The dissertation will be in the area of specialization of the students and will be supervised by a member of the teaching faculty. Students will be expected to submit a short written proposal for their research topic towards the end of the sixth semester (i.e. upon completion of their respective four specialized courses).
The final project paper will be due for submission at the end of the final semester or a subsequent date as determined by the Project Paper Committee.

The program has been designed to provide the flexibility of an executive program while maintaining the academic rigor of a full-time program. The program comprises 7 semesters spanning 2 years and 3 months to be covered on a part-time basis. Each semester will be 12 weeks long and there will be three such semesters in a calendar year. Students will typically take up 2 courses per semester. Courses will be conducted on Saturday afternoons (3.00 p.m. – 6.30 p.m.) and Sunday mornings (9.00 a.m. – 12.30 p.m.). Each course will have a 3 ½ hour lecture each week; therefore, there will be 7 hours of lecture per week. Examinations will be conducted in between semesters and will be followed by an inter semester break.
